Dialectical behavior therapy services for adults and adolescents.

Dialectical behavior therapy services for adults and adolescents.

At DBT-PTSD Specialists, we pride ourselves on having a client-first focus from the first time you call to schedule a session, throughout your treatment, to when you graduate from the DBT program.

Being client-first means our mental health professionals get to know you as a person, understand your goals, and design treatment plans tailored to the life you want to live. We offer trauma-informed adult services and multiple adolescent services to connect each person with the most fitting resources available.

What we offer

By no means all-inclusive, the following list represents just a sample of the treatment options available:

Individual therapy

Helps individuals explore personal challenges and life transitions, process emotions, set goals, and build coping skills and resilience.

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)

Teaches mindfulness, emotional regulation and stress management techniques to help individuals manage intense emotions.

Exposure therapy

Helps individuals gradually face and manage anxiety through a step-by-step, confidence-building process.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Provide several therapy sessions per week for individuals who need structured mental health support but don’t require residential care or hospitalization.

Child & Adolescent Therapy

Help children and teens navigate emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges while building resilience and coping skills.

Trauma-focused therapies

Help individuals process painful experiences, reduce the impact of trauma, and feel safer and more in control.

About us

About us
We are a small clinic with less than 20 mental health professionals from a variety of educational backgrounds, including clinical mental health counseling and social work. Being a small clinic means we can easily coordinate care, collaborate, and get to know the people we work with at an individual level. Our work is centered around core values, including: prioritizing client care, approaching work with a dialectical perspective, creating a safe space, applying critical consciousness, and being an employer of choice.

Our clinic offers:
  • State-certified DBT IOP: Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) includes weekly individual therapy, weekly skills groups, phone coaching, and weekly consultation team meetings.
  • Trauma-informed Services: Our therapists have received trauma-informed training to provide support and guidance on every step of the healing journey.
  • In-person and Telehealth: All of our providers offer in-person and telehealth services.
  • Insurance: We work with most insurance companies, so contact your company to learn about IOP coverage.

Internship Program

Our team works closely with academic programs to provide training to students in counseling psychology and social work through practicum and internship opportunities.

What We Offer

  • DBT provider training by a state-certified program (32 hours)
  • Experience as an individual therapist and group co-facilitator
  • Weekly supervision with committed clinical supervisors
  • Multidisciplinary team case consultation meetings
  • Stipend of $750

Program Expectations

We have spring and fall cohorts, and students may apply for a 9-month placement (16-20 hours per week). All hours must be completed on site. Students must be available during typical business hours and one evening a week, for group co-facilitation.

How to Apply

Please submit a cover letter and resume to Anna Sederberg, LPCC, who is the internship program clinical lead, by email at: anna.sederberg@optum.com. She can also answer any practicum – and internship – related questions.
